Our goal is simple: help readers understand sizes correctly. This page explains how every thingssiz.com guide is researched, written and kept up to date.
Accuracy first
- Conversions use exact definitions (1 inch = 25.4 mm, 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg).
- Object sizes come from standards, official rules or manufacturer specifications whenever possible.
- When real objects vary, we say so and give a range instead of a single number.
- We always state which dimension matches: length, width, height or diameter.
Labels we use
- Exact: the object is made to that size by a standard or rule.
- Very close: within about 1/8 inch (3 mm) of the size.
- Approximate: usually close, but real items vary.
Original work
We do not copy other websites. We may look at what people search for, but every guide is written from our own research, with our own examples, tables and images.
Corrections and updates
If we find or are told about an error, we fix it and update the date on the guide. You can report a problem on our contact page.
Independence
Our guides are not paid for by brands. If we ever use affiliate links or ads, they will never change what we say about a size.
